I like this app very much due to the fact of me not being a native speaker yet almost sounding like one. I am from Germany and I also went to a couple of stores where I wanted to buy something and instead of speaking german I spoke english, not accidentally but to know how I‘d be in a conversation with this accent (that I am still learning on the app)

I‘m a proficient english speaker and I have speech training experience in my native language. I downloaded the app to see how the test would rate my accent. It got me hooked for the last 2 hours. The teaching videos are great and the graphics of the position of the tongue are very useful. Even on my high level (I got a 91% on the initial test. The app helps me understand my mistakes and I can feel improvements already. A playful warmup exercise to loosen up the jar, tongue and mouth is missing though, that’s why I only gave four stars. I would love to have the possibilty to learn different styles and dialects of english in the future (or even other languages) It‘s an amazing app.

I really enjoyed trying this app, but I was a bit sad to see that it was only designed for american accents. I much prefer the british accent and would have loved to train it, but as soon as I had to pronounce daughter as „dawter“ instead of „dohtah“ i uninstalled

It is a nice way to see an area in which you can improve, as some already mentioned, it only refers to the American “way of speaking”, causing to mark things as “bad” when it is just the British version. So if more English varieties could be included, that would be great !

Ich hatte ein oder zwei Apps ausprobiert. Sie waren langweilig. Keine bietet solch eine Qualität. Es ist wie Einzelunterricht.

Learned so much

Das Abo ist viel zu teuer und der Einstieg in die App dauert wirklich lange. Ich möchte auch nicht immer am selben Tag um die selbe Uhrzeit üben. Das ist sehr unflexibel. Aber bei dem Preis brauche ich darüber nicht nachdenken. Schade...

This app only recognizes the North American variety of English as correct. It also only aims at a limited list of non-native accents. If you’re not one of them it is of very little use, especially if NAEng is not you goal.

It‘s really helpful to improve one‘s pronunciation!

This app is great for American pronunciation but keeps flagging my British accent as wrong, especially the o sounds. If it was possible to choose the right English accent, I suppose it could be a great help.
