Beschreibung

An open world adventure game filled with silly characters and terrible secrets. Afterplace is an adventurous indie game for mobile devices. It's a huge open world, full of hidden secrets, treasures, and creatures. You'll run around the woods, fight monsters, and talk to ostensibly shady characters! All from your pocket! Be warned though - you never know what the forest might be hiding, and not all trails are paved. Labyrinths and dungeons are tucked away in the most concealed nooks. There are no waypoints in Afterplace. You'll have to forge your own path. Afterplace has been designed from the ground up to be a fast, fluid, beautiful experience for mobile. There are no virtual buttons. You can move and attack by touching anywhere. You can tap objects directly to interact or attack, or use two thumbs like a traditional controller. The game will adapt dynamically to your play style. Pick up and set down the game at your own pace, it will always save your progress. Afterplace is made to feel like a full-fledged indie adventure game that fits in your pocket. About the Author: Afterplace is made by one person, Evan Kice. A former software engineer from Austin TX, Evan quit his job (to the dismay of his friends and family) and has been working full time on Afterplace since early 2019. The initial game released in December of 2022, but Evan plans on continuing to support and polish the game when he can!

Love how the game lets you explore the map at your own pace. You can tell a lot of thought went into it. The game has a story to it with several possible endings. I got one of them so far but will definitely try to get more :)

Ansonsten locker 5 Sterne.

Einer schrieb es wäre Zelda-like. Ist es nicht wirklich. Es gibt keine quests. Das einzige das es zu tun gibt ist Münzen einsammeln. Kein Plan was das sein soll

Afterplace is an absolutely amazing zelda-like RPG with lovable, funny characters, nice gameplay and a story that takes you way beyond what you expect of it. Seriously, it´s way better than the footage and description alone suggest but thats the beauty of it. The cute fassade ruptures at some points and boi how it does. If you´re sold now, play it, if not, read further and I´ll tell you a little about the story: (minor spoilers) You strand on a huge floating island which you soon discover exists between different dimensions. Something or someone pulled people and buildings from other dimensions onto this island and caused irreversible damage to space-time. Doors lead to weird places with flesh-walls, ever-repeating fireplaces, infinite libraries or just a cozy beach. The problem: Most of those doors take you to yet another place when walking back through the them. And behind some doors are horrors which quite often gave me chills all over. This game can be a good horror game aswell!

All in all very good game design. I think, a map would be really helpful, since it’s very easy to get lost.
  • A beautiful gem of a game!

They don‘t make them like this anymore! A charming retro pixel RPG with a beautiful soundtrack and no IAP in sight. Highly recommended!
